Improvise your History Creating a “backstory” or history for your character generally refers to the process of inventing details about the history of the character’s life. This process allows the actor to portray a character who is three-dimensional and more lifelike character, rich in personality, experiences, world-views and opinions – one an audience can identify as a real person. Actors spend hours on this process as improvisers we have to create this instantly. Learn how to make choices that allow an improvisers backstory to grow as the scene develops. See how these choices provide depth in your scenework.
